WHO WE ARE
Pisces Moon is a DC-based duo of queer immigrants. Singer Lintle Motsoasele and songwriter/producer Sally Hamidi (aka. Seroya) are astute musicians that draw inspiration from their homelands of Southern Africa and Iran, respectively. Pisces Moon members have extensive backgrounds in the craft - this project is the latest groove in their lifelong music-making march from soloing towards a timeless collab. This is a total match made in heaven.
Pisces Moon brings a smooth, sexy EP that remakes vintage love ballads. Motsoasele and Hamidi pay tribute to the songs that molded them into the musicians they are today, reached them from half-a-world away, and inspired them to keep exploring themes of love and longing. "Our hope is that our music will resonate with listeners on a deep and personal level as they re-experience these timeless classics in a new way," says Sally Hamidi.
“I kept hearing these 90’s ballad lyrics pop up as I was putting the tracks together. Lyrically, I felt they worked seamlessly with the new musical re-construction. I had heard Lintle (aka. Dee as her friends know her) sing on a few self-produced tracks and was very curious about how her voice would work with the project. Lo and behold, the second she took over the mic I knew her voice was the perfect fit for the project and we just hit the ground running from there.”
On her experience recording this project, Lintle confesses “I had no idea what to think when Sally called me up. But after hearing the tunes and seeing the vision, it started to make sense. Our work together in her tiny studio was so effortless and fun. We just went with the flow and really focused on creating a vibe with this release.”
It is also of no surprise that it has been effortless to gain a steady following with this release. With their unique style and sound, Pisces Moon takes you on a vastly rich, sonic journey to where it all started and back to where we are today.
